Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sticky all over! Going to have to throw out!! I've had this Food Saver for quite some time, so I know it's past the warranty. I've read all the reviews and I see that there are a lot of complaints about the black parts going sticky. Mine is extreme. I can't even pick it up without spending 10 minutes or more trying to clean my hands!! I also see that Food Saver had responded to these complaints by advising how to clean it, but no explanation as to why it's happening and is it even still safe to use? It's getting to the point that I will have to throw it out because trying to handle it when using takes longer to clean up afterwards!! Would be a great machine if I didn't have to deal with the stickiness.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This sticky problem has gone on for over 10 years The V2490 has had a problem with the sticky casing for YEARS. The company has known about it for at least 10 years. I know because I complained about it myself back then. They keep pretending it is a minor problem and play dumb but keep making the same crappy plastic case. What kind of quality control is that? How is that responding to customers all having a serious issue? This could be a good product. Need new management!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sticky The stickiness of the machine is ridiculous. I don't understand. I have tried everything to get rid of the stickiness but nothing works. Wouldn't recommend as I paid over $100 for this machine. It should be recalled or replaced. Its gross.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Happy and Disappointed Looks like many are experiencing the same issue as mine. Love the machine but it’s become very sticky as the plastic appears to be breaking down. Everything sticks to it and you can even scrape off a layer of the plastic. It does a great job but I hesitate to replace it with another if this is going to happen again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great machine...short shelf life Not even 2 yrs has passed and it's trash...very dissatisfied with how long this lasted...I expected a machine that would last well over 5 years...what is it all sticky and problematic this way for...food saver company...you need to do something about this!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Short shelf life, This machine isn't two years old yet and it isn't sealing all the way across . I have to keep cutting the bags and leaving it on longer in hopes that it will seal. Also the outside is very sticky. I'm not sure what is wrong with it But I took it out the other day and all the plastic is all sticky and grouse . It is getting that time of year again that I do a lot of freezing of my vegetables and such out of the garden . I don't have to money to buy a new one .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sticky all over, totally unuseable! As many have pointed out, my foodsaver has become sticky all over. I only used it the first year. Customer Service said no warranty. Shouldn't there be some type of recall on this? Paid over $100 on this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sticky and Disgusting Bought this several years ago and hardly used it, maybe once or twice a year for certain items. This foodsaver has become extremely sticky. It is not dirty and I have tried to clean the sticky off but to no avail. I spent a lot of money on bags and do not want to buy a new one since I hardly used this one, and it still works fine, but disgusting to use because of the sticky black stuff. Only the black parts became stick and must have something to do with the material used. Not a happy customer.
