Rated 1 out of 5 by from STICKY surface Mine too -- got this model and it turned to stickiness this year -- think the surface is degenerating or something. if there is a solution, please let me know. we love this device otherwise. just worried that any BPA or contaminates from the sticky material get into the food!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love it/ Hate it The best vacuum sealer I have ever had but for some reason after about two years the finish started getting soft and sticky, everywhere. Still works great but the sticky finish make me have to throw out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plastic is having a unhealthy chemical reaction! I have had this machine for several years now and I really liked using it to seal and preserve our harvests. However, I was extremely disappointed when the black plastic material utilized on the exterior and interior of the machine started to be sticky. It is having a terrible EXTREMELY sticky chemical reaction.... like it is melting or something! I know this can't be healthy. Since I really like how this machine works I would still recommend to do business with FoodSaver however I strongly recommend a different model without black plastic because the machine itself worked great for me. It is just the plastic melting sticky situation that is a big problem. I have purchased a different model over the years and It is a good system so for that reason, I would still recommend FoodSaver.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bon système, mais pas si durable! J'ai ce produit depuis plusieurs années et il m'a rendu de bons services. Il a toujours presque tout enlevé l'air dans les sacs et très rarement le seal n'a pas tenu le coup. Depuis les dernières années, le matériau noir autant à l'extérieur qu'à l'intérieur a commencé à se détériorer et devenir collant, mais la machine fonctionnait toujours bien. Maintenant, depuis environ un an, le système à beaucoup de difficulté à faire sortir l'air des sacs et même pas du tout à l'occasion. Je crois que mon système est rendu au bout du rouleau... Même si FoodSaver ne veut rien faire pour moi, je vais quand même racheter encore leur système parce que les autres marques n'en valent pas la peine. Par exemple, je ne crois pas que les système plus dispendieux en valent la peine, puisque la durabilité n'est pas au rendez-vous.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Food saver V2490 I bought this just over a year ago. Not very happy with it. It does not cut properly and l do two wraps with it and it sounds like it is laboring to keep working. Not very happy as l paided over 100.00 for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still Works After 21 Years My husband and I received this as a wedding gift almost 22 years ago. Yes, after about 15 years the rubber and plastic broke down and became sticky. We sealed the sticky parts and it still went strong until a few months ago. In this day and age, nothing lasts even a few years let alone over 20 years! It’s time for a new one. We will definitely be buying another Food Saver after the proven quality of our last one. Here’s to another 20 years!
