Rated 5 out of 5 by from SEALS GREAT If you do not put the top of the bag to about the top of the drip tray, then no, it won't seal properly. But if you do it right, it's AMAZING. Its called "user error". Just check out a YouTube video or something. I love mine.

We love to make beef Jerky and thought the food saver would be great to save and ship our beef jerky to our family out of state. This product was all we wanted and more! We love the marinating dish. It is so easy to use and with the vacuum sealing technology the marinade is drawn through the meat and makes a very flavorful meal. We have used this product on Beef, Chicken, and Fish. We are excited to try this system on vegetables. It is made really well and comes with everything you need to get started. Overall, we are very pleased with this product and cant wait to try more foods to save and preserve.

One of the things I really like about this food saver is the roll cutter on the lid. One of the features that this food saver has that I'm really excited about is that it has the east lock latch a one-handed operation secures the bag for vacuum sealing. I also think it's really cool that it has a built-in bagged alignments it ensures correct bag placement for a proper seal. This thing even has a seal button that seals rolls to the correct custom size bags. This vacuum sealer it's for sure a game changer and I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek and efficient [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was beyond what I could imagine for a vacuum sealer; we had one that was probably 15 years old and I had no idea what i was missing with an upgrade. This is sleek and easy to store. Easy set up and easy to use. Makes a great seal and also has tons of extra items to make storing food a breeze. Overall super happy with this product. So far haven't noticed any downsides to it. Instructions make it easy even for a first time user. Great for sealing and infusing meats to avoid freezer burn. Or saving leftovers for winter food prep including fresh summer veggies.

It has a low noise level so easy to use. I buy in bulk so this creates a major savings for my family. I seal my food quickly and then store in freezer for later use. The 4 settings of moist, dry, Lise and marinate are so useful. The built in roll storage is so convenient and you can size your bag accordingly. The easy lick handle is very safe. Great features. Love this item and will definitely use all settings. Anyone, especially a large family will surely enjoy saving money on their food bill.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Had high hopes for this FoodSaver ! I had to get a FoodSaver replacement in a hurry because mine stopped working. However this one isn't one that I would recommend! The manual part that I use a lot has a broken piece of plastic in it, and I can't find any way to remove it. The FoodSaver is very MANUAL, 1. you have to close and open it with a manual lever, very confusing. There is NO ACCESSORY PORT for my canisters, bottle sealers! Can't believe it would be a very reasonable purchase as it's so limited in use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from disapointed I wanted a Foodsaver for a very long time so I finally bought one about a year ago. I even purchased several of the Foodsaver containers and ziplock bags. I recently noticed the items I froze after using foodsaver that the bags didn't completely seal. Although, the leakage was slight it caused a mess as well as leaves me to question how safe the food really is now. The built in attachment for bags and containers has always been temperamental to say the least. I thought it was user error when I first got the machine. It is not! The attachment MIGHT work perfectly the first time or never after several repeated attempts. When the machine works as "Designed" it is amazing but constantly fighting the hand attachment and redoing bags due to failed seals is a waster of time and money.

It has so many great features that makes sure my food stays fresher longer. Plus, it helped me better organize my refrigerator by reducing the amount of Tupperware containers I used to have taking up space. I vacuum seal raw meat and fruit when I get it and it greatly increases the amount of time I had to eat it, I hate when food goes bad before I have the chance to eat it, and am especially anxious about storing meat. It also has a handheld vacuum that works on zipper bags and Tupperware. Plus, a cutter to size the bags based on the food so there is less waste. It sits well on my counter and has a nice silver finishing, so it looks premium. I’m glad I got this!

So many times I have had to throw things out because they would simply go bad before I could use them. This food saver helps me to be able to seal them up right so that this doesn’t happen which saves so much money in the long run. I find myself running to the store less and not tossing as much out. I love I get more use out of groceries. It’s so convenient and easy to use. I recommend this to anyone and everyone. I think everyone can benefit from this product and it’s well worth it! Just get it, you will not be disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good! So far, so good! I am getting the hang of using the device, after wanting one for years. Basic items, like left over Christmas ham, are easy and work as expected. Just tried pre-freezing a quiche (hash brown crust - thanks Steve Docy!) and it appears to have worked great with minimal deformation. Will thaw in a week or so, but I expect good results. Yesterday I used the pulse mode on bread: Very happy. It looks evacuated and I did not crush the bread. Someday I will try Souse Vide... Putting a block of cheese in an extra long bag has worked well. You can re-open and reseal, keeping the cheese fresh for longer in the refrigerator. I may look into buying Ziplock, vacuum seal bags now that I see the value.

It comes with airtight bags that keep water and dust away from your food. It also ensures that there is no freezer burn. The bags are durable and the heat seals make this fun and exciting to use, as long as you follow the instructions and store your food appropriately. It works best when you fill the bags proportionately without cramming it. With this device, I am able to preserve food for longer periods without worrying about spoilage, especially when buying in bulk.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from New model not an improvement over old. I recently purchased this model as my old FoodSaver wore out after eight years of use. I am not pleased with the new features. The lid will fall on my hand (ouch!) if I have not pushed it hard enough to catch. I do not like the heating element exposed. I do not like having to CRANK the handle to turn it on every for every bag - twice actually - to make bag and to seal when filled. My hand joints hurt after sealing 12 pounds of beans in 2-cup bags. I would LOVE to take it back and get another like my old one! New, but NOT improved.

It is very compact and it matches my stainless steel kitchen. I read reviews before getting this and many said it doesn't seal. I totally understand why. If you don't have the end of the bag inside the dip tray properly, it won't seal. But if you make sure you cut the bag long enough to be able to have the whole end in the tray, then it seals beautifully and wonderfully. I love watching how it sucks all the air out. The hand held sealer is a life saver. It helps me marinade food fast and delicious. This machine comes with many bags and rolls it is such a great deal. I love my food saver and I highly recommend this model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement unit, a step up Replacement purchase and I really like it. I have used the Food Saver devices for many many years. I have always stuck with the basics, as I did not feel I needed the advanced features. Over the years, units have worn out, and I was able to replace gaskets and tubes, but this last time, the gaskets are no longer available. I decided it was time for a new unit, and went with the unit with the built in hand held attachment. I like that it has been designed to hold bag rolls in the bottom and can seal new bags quickly and the slicer works from either direction. I like the elevated design and more visible labels on the buttons. Not super fancy, but definitely a step up from the older flat design.

Not only does it work great at vacuuming and sealing, it also has a handheld vacuum sealer that works perfectly with resealable bags and the 10-cup Preserve & Marinate Container, which is my favorite feature! It has several settings including moist, dry, marinate and sous vide to handle all your needs. It also has a place to store the roll that is an added convenience. This unit is very easy to use and works great!!

The Foodsaver multi use system is absolutely awesome! I have an older one, but this one has the rolls of bags built right in!! The other built in feature is the built in hand pump! The design is sleek not bulky. You can go from bag to hand pump containers! I would highly recommend this food saver. Awesome product. Great for making bulk items stay fresher and last longer .A must buy!!!!

It's very easy to use once you understand how it works. A simple push of a few buttons! There's three custom settings depending on the food you're preserving: marinate, moist, and dry. All three are effective at preserving their respective type of food. Aesthetically the product looks very slick and is visually appealing. It not only works great, it also looks and feels very high quality. Would purchase again and would definitely recommend. 10/10.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inconsistency Bought this product after an older one stop working. Thought initially that it would be a great replacement. However, this machine is so inconsistence. It will work 5 out of ten times correctly , then it will not. There is this challenge of aligning the bag with the drip tray and even when we think it is aligned correctly, especially with moist items, it is not and will not seal. We feel like we have wasted bags and monies. Then has to be a better solution for this. So disappointed!

I had an original model of the food saver from when they first released them. I was hoping this newer model would work a little better. It's basically the same technology but with a newer exterior. I followed the instructions to a T and still had issues consistently getting the air out of the bags. I was hoping it would work a little better. I have not had the chance to use the marinating function but I will say that I like that it has a spot to magnetically hold the piece that sucks the air out of the marinate container. The older model you had to attach the tube and it was one more thing to keep up with. On this unit it sits towards the back and attaches with a magnet. That is a nice feature. The unit came with a lot of bags and supplies which is nice. Overall, I give it a good review because perhaps I will get better at it sucking the air out over time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poorly Designed Unless you're sealing food that is entirely flat or hanging off the counter, the downwards angle of the lid makes it impossible to seal your food without wasting an incredible amount of material. Then for some reason the cutting blade is positioned within the seal, so the first time using this I ended up cutting open the bag I just created... Tried using this to replace my GameSaver sealer which had separate issues after a short time and it turned out to be a bad decision.

A replacement was hard to find. I was desperate and drove to 3 stores (50 miles) and finally found this. We've been nursing this junk and I've about had enough. This sealer works fast, has lots of vacuum power, and seals great. I have sealed wet and dry foods and items with ease and no problems. I was impressed with just how quiet this unit is. The slim and sleek design looks great and blends in perfectly with any kitchen decor. Im extremely happy with the functionality and performance of this unit and I'm sure you will be too. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great vacuum sealer.

I had a different one for 6 years and absolutely loved it, this one, not so much. I would not recommend this one at all! You would think this would last longer!

The instructions don't say this, but make sure to wait for the button to stop glowing before you mess with it further---it is not finished until then! Set up is easy too: just plug it in and it's ready to go. My main complaint is that the instructions weren't the most informative, but I also have never used a foodsaver before so I could just be stupid. Overall it seals the food up great and I'll definitely be using it in the future!

I haven't used it for a lot of different foods yet, but I have used it to store some raw chicken in the freezer. For the most part, it worked well but there were some things that were a little disappointing. The vacuum part didn't seem super strong and didn't seem to suck all of the air out, it did most of it, just not all. I had it on the "moist" setting because raw chicken is a little wet, but it didn't seal the bag all the way. I had to double seal it. Like I said, I haven't tried other food, but maybe i'll try using this product with something that is not wet at all. The handheld part work great with the bags it came with.
