The best I've had so far!
I bought this unit about 2 years ago and it works beautifully! The advantages over my "old" one are: 1) The hand-held vacuum unit allows you to vacuum air out of those reusable bags with the button (great for Parmesan cheese when you only need a little chunk); and 2) You don't have to put as much of the edge of the bag in to obtain a proper seal (wasting less of those expensive bags)

cord shorted on bottom of unit
There is a flaw with the way they have us wrap the cord around the hooks on the bottom of the unit.The cord gets wrapped too tight and the cord gets kinked .My wife was using ours and sparks shot out of the bottom.The cord has split and the wires have shorted together.Ours is still like new with little use.I think this should be a recall.I would like mine fixed as it just needs a new cord.It is too good to throw away.Maybe Foodsaver will help me out.
