How to Use Your Marinator

  • Tips and How To's

Making dinner in a pinch can be a hassle, especially if you like your fish, meats or veggies marinated to perfection. Marinating a juicy steak can take hours, meaning you'll have to prepare well ahead of time, glazing the meat in marinade hours beforehand or even the night previous.

Making a nice marinated dinner is usually off the table unless you plan well in advance, but it doesn't have to be. By vacuum sealing your food with the marinade, you cut the process down from hours to minutes.

Did the weather suddenly clear up just in time for barbecuing? Marinate a batch of steaks and get to it.

Some unexpected guests dropped by out of the blue? A savory honey-soy marinated salmon is just minutes away.

Did you forget to marinate the pork chops for tonight? No sweat! The FoodSaver® Quick Marinator has you covered, and you can marinate those chops in just 12 minutes.

How does it work?
The concept is simple. The Quick Marinator and a FoodSaver® Vacuum Sealing System use vacuum power to force marinades into your food like a sponge.

Without the Quick Marinator, it takes time for marinades to naturally soak into your food. Because of this, most recipes will tell you to marinate for 30 minutes at the very least. Even then, some like to marinate meats for longer so they absorb more flavor. For the best results, a real foodie may leave chicken, steak and chops marinating overnight or for at least four hours.

That's not the case when your meats and veggies are vacuum sealed. The Quick Marinator does the job in minutes when it normally takes hours, and using these kitchen tools is a breeze.

1, 2, 3 marinate!
The Quick Marinator is a 2.25-quart cannister that can be easily vacuum sealed using the hose and adapter on the Vacuum Sealing System. It's durable, BPA-free and dishwasher safe for easy cleanup. Here's how to use it.

  1. Put your meats into the Quick Marinator with a marinade of your choice and seal the lid firmly.
  2. Apply the adapter to the top of the lid.
  3. Press "marinate."
  4. After the container is vacuum sealed, take the adapter out and let the meat sit for the desired length of time - just a few minutes will do.

In no time, your meat, fish or veggies will be marinated to perfection. Go straight from the Quick Marinator to the grill, stovetop or oven, and a readymade dinner is right around the corner.
