I have the smaller sealer and sometimes it's hard to find these bags not grouped with the larger ones, which I can't use. I have had it for several years and it is just the right size for a two person family. I freeze meat portions and cheese mostly. I can buy the economy package and save money. Cheese keeps forever fresh and tasty as the day it was made. I would highly recomend it.

I love to buy in bulk because it is cost effective for us, even now. My FoodSaver helps me to stretch my money even further by using my freezer. I used to throw food away because of freezer burn but not anymore. If my FoodSaver stopped working today, I would be shopping for a new one tomorrow. I love my FoodSaver!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The 8" rolls fit most of our uses day to day With the 8" bags we are able to wrap any length t fish or fillet and keep for a year or more. For venison we seal large chunks, then as we are ready we do a semi-thaw and slice or grind and re-seal. Because it seals so tight we don't have freezer loss we are able to use every thing we take. Of course the bulk buying is much more effective when you don't have U.F.O.'s in your freezer. (Unidentifiable frozen objects)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We use this size the most. We use this size the most because its just the 2 of us. We still buy in bulk to save money. 90% of what we buy we freeze first then put into bags. No juice or liquid to clean up. This works great with soup or spaghetti sauce. Just freeze in small plastic 16 to 20 oz size with tops like ( I can't believe its not butter or cotage cheese containers ) . They last for a year and you can heat it upin the bag.

It isalso perfect for freezing fish for 1-2 years without frreezer burn! It is highly recommended. We cut up our own wild game meat and steelhead, salmon, halibut, ling cod. Vacuum packing keeps it for a long, long time in the freezer. It thaws out just like fresh food....This method is EXCELLENT!

We are able to save money and prepare the chicken we want and freeze it in our foodsaver bags. I only bought the 11" rolls with my initial purchase of the FoodSaver sealing system and quickly learned what I really needed were the smaller rolls. I have used them for numerous things and find the size to be perfect when the serving size will be for two people. The option to have them longer when needed is fantastic. HIGHLY recommend this size!!!

I once found two bags of ground venizon in the bottom of our freezer--one in an FS bag and one in butcher paper--both four years old. The FS bag was perfect--no freezer burn. The butcher paper meat was freezer-burned beyond edibility except for use as dogfood.

I previously had the handheld vacuum system but, those bags after time seem to allow air back into them. The big system is definitely the way to go. They seal tight and stay sealed !

They are sturdy and hold up even when handled frequently and can often be washed and reused. I don't like to eat the same thing for a week so I put individual servings in my freezer and have "fresh" servings till they are gone. Not only are my meats stored in the freezer beautifully, I have dry goods in jars in my pantry which will be fresh for years, thanks to the jar attachment which uses canning lids. I prefer the rolls over the pre-cut bags so that I can choose the size for my needs. We are hunters, so the FoodSaver works GREAT for freezing our harvests.

I have concluded that it may have to do with grease or meat juice at the seal. I have started double sealing each end for some items.
