Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Too many faults to be rated high Been using food saver products since 1999. More than half the time the vacuumed bags leak and lose the seal. Have tried all the tricks recommended by Food Saver; paper towel for wet foods, freeze first, etc but still have problems. Every one of my canisters, and I have bought extra have cracked bottoms and will not hold a vacuum. Fill it 1/4 way and vacuum it down. See the air leak into the canister. When it works it is great but success is rare. Exception is the hard to find individual seal caps that used to be available but can't find any more. They would be great for glass jars and hold a vacuum indefinitely. Fix the container cracking problem!

Rated 2 out of 5 by CaliGramma from Cannot recommend. I purchased a set of the canisters about a month or so ago. Recently I got another 2 sets. All stayed in their original boxes with original packing until today. My chore today was to organize my pantry and I bought the canisters to help with that. Unfortunately, none of the small or medium sized canisters will seal. Only the largest one from each set would seal properly and was useful. Each got a quick warm water wash & dried thoroughly with a paper towel prior to use. No discernible reason for not sealing. I have tried every hint on this website to no avail. Just bad manufacturing, I guess. Or bad design..... Either way it's not working for me. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Foodmuppet from Cracked out I bought these knowing they were risky. There are a ton of reviews online about these cracking. I figured I'd handle them with kid gloves and see what happened. -I only hand washed them. -I never refrigerated or froze them. -I would only run one cycle. -They were never dropped. The large and medium size canister both cracked on the bottom. The cracks are so bad that the canisters will actually slightly seal to my counter top. As others have mentioned, it's hard to understand why they don't immediately discontinue and improve this product. I've been satisfied with other Foodsaver products though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kat57 from Round plastic food containers Love the product but they crack very quickly on the bottom. Some haven't even been washed and they still cracked. I've actually had to take shipping tape to the bottom in order to keep the seal. I usually keep the same thing in the containers (different kinds of crackers and snacks) so they don't get washed very often and when they do, I wash them by hand. Will still keep using them but wouldn't recommend them to anyone who hasn't purchased this product. Hopefully, I'm not the only one with this problem and you will make some change(?) in how it's made. The bags are a different story. They are fabulous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HappyCustomer from Versatile Product and Good Value at Sale Price Picked up a couple sets of these, my first, during a recent 50%-off sale. Found so many uses for them that I ordered another two sets right before the sale ended. Cookies, cereal, nuts, crackers, rice, etc. stay fresh virtually forever. Perhaps the most impressive thing of all was that I used one canister to store a head of lettuce that remained good and fresh enough to use after five weeks (yes, five weeks, not days) of sealed, refrigerated storage, which I simply would never have believed had I not seen it myself. Have had absolutely no issues whatsoever with either cracking or seal issues as has been mentioned in some other reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MrKeith from The best reusable FoodSaver accessory I have two sets of the three Piece Round Canister Sets since they are so helpful. I use them for snack peppers, cherry and campari tomatoes, fresh pineapple spears straw berries, shrimp... Any item that is too large for the shallow containers or would be crushed in a bag. As "empty-nesters" we can buy the family pack of berries and vegetables, seal them in canisters and they stay fresh for weeks. Strawberries last many times longer and get eaten long before they develop the white mold - something that happened often before we got the canisters. We do a lot of boating and look forward to using the canisters while on both weekend and longer cruises.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hubbycap from Use every day to keep oxygen off my coffee beans. Been a big fan of FoodSaver for years. On my 3rd model and very happy with its performance. I have the sandwich size, marinator, and canister set containers and I only have one complaint: The large canister will crack on the bottom after multiple uses. It seems to be under-engineered for the stress exerted on the larger flat bottom dimension of the large canister. I now have two canister sets and both of the large canisters cracked on the bottom and will not hold a vacuum. Molded-in ribbing on the bottom could have prevented this premature failure.

Rated 2 out of 5 by GregM from Got these with Food Saver Vac - all are cracked I got these 3 round canisters and the Quick Marinator with the purchase of my Food Saver Vac - all have cracked bases, rendering them useless because they don't/can't hold a seal. So the good news is that when new, they worked great. Not more than 3 months later, they started cracking and within 6 months they were pretty much useless. So either a tribute to the strong vacuum, or a slam on the quality of canister construction, or both. I used some food-grade sealant on one canister which worked for a bit, then more cracks developed. I should just chuck 'em. Maybe the newer ones are better.
