Rated 5 out of 5 by Benjazen from Love it! We bought this because it's one of the larger containers available. That being said, it can understandably take a few more moments than the smaller containers to vacuum. We also really like its durability- it keeps us with us! The bonus grater is perfect; you can even leave it in the container. And since there's no air exposure, we keep several kinds of cheeses in it at once. They've never lasted so long. Another great use is for caramel corn. We like to make a big batch, and several days later it's still fresh as the hour it cooled. Any other container and the corn's always stale and lost its crunch in a few hours. Recommend it? I want a pile of these!

Rated 1 out of 5 by squash4dave from Cracks, cracks, everywhere I have had this for awhile, but I've really only used it once or twice, and there are more cracks in it than I can count. They are not just on the bottom, but all across the sides as well. I've had cracks on the round canisters as well, but only on the bottoms. Although the rectangular one is still holding the seal (I keep the empty canisters partially vacuum sealed, so the the lids won't fall off accidentally), but with so many cracks, I'm afraid that it might shatter when I use it with a full seal. Come on Foodsaver, your sealer is excellent, how about making your canisters hold up better!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Wooly from Don't waste your money. I bought about 4 of these. We were very careful with them. They were never put in the dishwasher, freezer or microwave. They no longer will hold a seal. I never did understand the grater that came with them, but whatever. I spent sevral hundred dollars on Cannisters and none of them will now hold a seal after a couple of years of use. I'm back to bags and canning jars. at least they're inexpensive and you can freeze them. I emailed Jarden several times about my cannisters and got a stupid response back as if i were using them for the first time that in no way answered my question. They did send me 1 of these for free, but the rest of them we've just trashed. Keep your money and buy wide mouth canning jars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jerry87 from Keeping Food Fresh I have been using food saver sealer bags for years but I wanted something to keep food items fresh and I wanted access to the food daily. I bought sever types of food saver vacuum containers and have been using them now for several weeks. I am pleased with the freshness of pastries sealed over two weeks earlier, with daily openings. I have not had time to check out regular foods that will be kept in my refrigerator, but I expect the same results there. I am pleased with the ease with which I can open and then seal back up the container. The containers and their tops look well made and I should expect them to last a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by joon from good stuff need more sizes I have all foodsaver containers. They all work great. I,d like to put a head of iceberg lettuce in a container but foodsaver does not have ine big enough. I would like to put fresh bread w/o preservatives in a foodfresh container to delay the onset of mlld but again they don,t have one big enough. What do you say guys? Make some bigger containers! If you make them we will buy them!

Rated 1 out of 5 by workingmom from Poor quality. Cracks, implodes easily. I loved these containers, but they crack and implode. I had the first one for about a year before it cracked. Then bought three more and they all cracked within a week of using them. Very disappointing. Being a working mother, I cook meals on the weekend and vacuum seal them, so we can eat as soon as I get home. I rely on the vacuum sealer working properly and when the container cracks or doesn't seal, I have no dinner and have to throw food out. The vacuum sealer is a great concept, but only if containers work with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by PopeJohnII from Cracks-n-Breaks I like the size, the intregal cheese grater, & the locking lid. But , usng only the V3440 gentle cycle, filling only w/ room temp ingedients, and always washing only by hand, all three of these containers cracked and broke within the first week of use. FS replaced #1 & #2 free of charge. I don't need a 4th grater or 4th now useless lid. We've used the round containers for years w/o this problem. If you read through earlier reviews you will see this is NOT an uncommon problem for this container. When they work, great - when they don't, you might have a mess!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sam10 from Versatile canister. First impression of the canister is the top gray button to create/relief the vacuum and the thickness of the plastic (in reference to the Marinator C.). The sides of the Rectangular C. are higher/deeper than the Marinator C.,possibly increasing the chances of cracks. I really like the top button and its mechanism. Seems easier, more efficient, less cumbersome in using the button, and less chance of creating a poor vacuum. I also like the deeper depth so now I don't have to worry about crushing the top of tall items. I haven't developed any cracks in the four or so dozen cans./cons I've purchased. Thank you for a wonderful addition to my FS food/kitchen equipment. Very highly recommended.
