Rated 4 out of 5 by MacDaddyDC from works great I waited awhile to post a review because I wanted some real-world experience before I said ' it sure looks nice." I've used the marinater at least 30 times now and am very pleased with its performance. The only very small knock I have is the cleaning instructions calling for water only to clean the top and seal, I put raw meat in there and simply am not comfortable with mere water. Other than that slight blip, I'd not only recommend this to friends and family, I may just buy another for the convenience of preparing larger amounts of food at the same time (like for family gatherings). My advice, buy one. You won't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TerryV from Excellent Accessory! Absolutely love this! I had a marinator for a couple of years and only used it for storage. Then I saw a demo on how to use it. Felt stupid, really easy to use. Well, it's now used several times a week for marinating. Started with Salmon (used a lemon pepper marinade), grilled on the BBQ and turned into an absolutely wonderful, tasteful dinner! Went on from there...steaks, chicken, seafood. Most marinating takes 4 hrs to overnight in the refrigerator. Have done it that way previsously. Not any more. I found the marinating done by the vacuum better than the traditional way, and it only takes about 20 minutes. Highly, highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Like2eat from Marinator - Really has a positive affect Today I marinated some lamb chops, the kind that look like little T-Bone steaks with olive oil, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning and put half in a Food Saver bowl and the other half sat on the cutting board. After 30 minutes, I grilled them equally and served them to my kids. I told them that the left and right side of the serving dish was different and both kids said that the ones that were marinated in the Food saver bowl were more tender and better tasting than those on the "left" side that were not. Although not perfectly scientific, I think that I will use the food saver marinator bowl in the future. I hope you experience is as positive as mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FDee from Great Steak!! We do steaks on the grill often and we have experimented with many diffterent marinades on them. Well we have found that only putting cracked black pepper and sea salt on each side really taste great and there are no flame ups on the grill. So when I received the marinating dish I wasn't sure if it would do anything to the taste since I wasn't using a wet marinade. I used the marinating dish and they sat in the fridge for maybe 30 minutes then I took them out to let them come to room tempature. The outcome was awesome. Although we only used the sea salt and cracked black pepper you could taste the seasoning throughout the entire piece of meat. I can't wait to use it on pork and chicken.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Michelle in New Orleans from We use this but... We use this and it's kind of fun but there's one problem with it which is not shown by the photos included with the product. You're supposed to not only COVER what you're marinating with the marinade but you can't fill it more than one inch from the top of the container. So the kabobs shown in these photos couldn't be covered or it would be more than one inch from the top of the container! So the photos are really incorrect & don't follow the instructions given. They should show a photo of the plain kabobs & then how much marinade they could put over them while still keeping one inch from the top of the container. Just sayin'...

Rated 5 out of 5 by Salvato56 from the best item of all the canaster products Basically I love all of the Food saver products, but over all the marinator hes turned out to be the most virsital it works so well as a 15 minute maranator but has such a great capacity for leftovers and it seals so well. I use it for almost everything i store in the refrigerator. It would be slightly better if it were stack-able without reducing its size. Overall magnificent product. Any of the other larger canisters i have had issues with cracking at the bottom when dropped on the counter strait out of the refridgerator so I use them for dry non refridgarated food storage. Food Saver makes great products Thanks Paul Salvato Tewksbury Massachusetts 01876

Rated 5 out of 5 by Foodsaverqueen from Quick Marinator is great... The Quick Marinator is excellent and works great BUT FoodSaver needs to make a larger one. It works so well I want to marinate everything including larger cuts of meats such as a roasting chicken, pork roast, rump roast, etc. I now have 2 marinators for when I want to marinate more than a few pounds of meat. I just bought my son a second one because he loves it so much but again, it just isn't big enough to accommodate more than a few pounds or larger cuts of meat....Come on FoodSaver, you have an excellent item, make it bigger!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mary from Cracks for no apparent reason I love Foodsaver and use the marinator alot because of the large storage size. The first one I bought along time ago (old body style with the gasket/ball thing) and it stopped working. I had it a long time so I was ok with that and proceeded to buy 2 of this newer style a few months ago. 1 of the 2 has already cracked for no apparent reason. I don't have a dishwasher so that's not the problem. I read alot of other reviews on another website about random cracking, but I ignored them. I love Foodsaver products except for this marinator. I'd be okay if it broke every few years, but every few months is not acceptable. Regardless, I'm going to order another one anyway and see what happens, still hoping it was a fluke. If either one cracks soon then I'm done with the marinator.
