Very Disappointed
I had the ORIGINAL Food Saver from the mid 80's and it FINALLY wore out and after speaking with Foodsaver and finding out I could not get replacement parts I decided to replace it with this model. I purchased it from Sams and have been SO disappointed with it. It seems to take multiple tries most of the time to get the bag to seal and even then while it looks like it made a good seal ultimately within a couple of days most of the bags end up with air in them. The red light warning for the liquid tray to be emptied comes on after every bag sealed.. even though the ingredients were DRY. The bag cutter just SUDDENLY stopped cutting. I have Sworn by Foodsaver for 30+yrs but honestly can't recommend this product. :(

Horrible sealer
I bought this unit at Sams Club about 2 years ago and it's the worst vacuum sealer I've ever owned. I spend more time trying to get it to seal than anything. The bag has to be pushed in so far and you can't see what it's doing. Then it will continue to say the tray is full and has to be emptied. When I take the tray out, there's very little in it, I proceed to empty what little is in tray and then have to dry the tray to even get it to work for 1 bag. All in all, it takes about 3 attempts to get one bag to seal properly. I just did 50 ears of corn to freeze and out of 20 bags, I only got about 10 to seal properly. I wore out my old foodsaver, wish it still worked, it was 100 times better than this one. Don't waste your money.

GREAT FOOD SAVER
We bought this about 2 1/2 years ago. It is great! I food save everything. I like to buy chops, steaks and chicken in bulk and FoodSave them. I will normally do 2 to a package since it is just the wife and I. I can take the package and put it in cool water and let it thaw out and in 15 or 20 min. its ready to go.

NO PARTS A PEICE OF FOAM ONLY 7 YRS OLD
my food saver model is 4828 I love it but the foam seal is cracked but the model is 7 years old and you cant buy the foam seal anymore very disappointed now I have to replace it..... I guess when you buy a new one you would have to buy extra parts when you buy a new one it so if you need them down the road you have them to use later the foam would only be about $5.00 to buy this is crazy. now I will have to put out about $150.00 instead of $5.00 very disappointed with this company.

Bought this model, V4825, 3yrs ago, still works fine. However will you please put the model # clearly on the FRONT! You could not find a more ridiculous location than the current one.

Could be a little more user friendly
With our children all grownup, married with families of their own, it is hard sometimes to remember that I am cooking for two. This also is great because I am the only that eats avocados, so I will cut in half and take the seeded half and vacuseal right away and it will last in fridge for a few days.

the cutter slide piece
I enjoy this unit and seems to work somewhat well though it requires a lot of wasted bag space between seals. Anyway, the sliding cutter for the bags no longer cuts. I know there are ways to install replacement razor blades and I did, but broke the plastic slider casing in the process. I cannot seem to find anywhere on-line in Canada to purchase a replacement slider cutter for this unit. Does this mean I have to buy an new one, just because of the slider cutter not being replaceable. If this simple replacement part is not available, I will not be buying FOODSAVER again.

Lots of problems
The tray full light comes on as soon as I plug it in, it won't completely seal a bag the first time, it usually takes me 6-15 attempts to seal a bag regardless of the contents. Worked great the first two dozen times but suddenly decided it didn't want to play anymore.
